The Netherlands offers good arrangements for workers. If you come to the Netherlands from the EU, you do not need a work permit because you can work and live freely within the EU. If you stay in the Netherlands longer than four months, however, you are required to apply for a Citizen Service Number for tax and healthcare purposes. You are then required to take out basic health insurance and pay tax on your income. Specific working conditions are regulated through a collective bargaining agreement. Furthermore, you always have fringe benefits, such as vacation days, pension plans and training opportunities.
