With a full-time job, of at least 40 hours, you are entitled to at least 20 vacation days and usually have two days off per week.

Schemes in the Netherlands

The Netherlands offers good arrangements for workers. If you come to the Netherlands from the EU, you do not need a work permit because you can work and live freely within the EU. If you stay in the Netherlands longer than four months, however, you are required to apply for a Citizen Service Number for tax and healthcare purposes. You are then required to take out basic health insurance and pay tax on your income. Specific working conditions are regulated through a collective bargaining agreement. Salaries in the Netherlands

Workers’ salaries in the Netherlands vary by sector. However, you do have a set minimum wage in the Netherlands, which forms a solid basis. Furthermore, you always have fringe benefits, such as vacation days, pension plans and training opportunities. Furthermore, you often receive vacation pay on your income, which is paid at the end of the year and is at least 8% of your gross annual salary.
