Charlie works

At Charlie works, we are looking for a proactive and hands-on Central Employee Coordinator (Morning Shift) to join our team in The Hague. Are you an early bird who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys solving problems, and knows how to keep operations running smoothly? Do you take ownership, act quickly, and go the extra mile to support our temporary workers and clients? Then read on!

As a Central Employee Coordinator (Morning Shift), you play an essential role in ensuring a smooth start to the working day for our temporary workers and clients.
During the early morning hours (05:00–14:00), you are one of the main points of contact for temporary workers, handling questions, resolving unexpected situations, and coordinating solutions to operational challenges.
Whether it involves sickness notifications, transport issues, employee questions, or unexpected problems at client locations, you take immediate action to find practical solutions and minimize disruption.
You are not someone who simply registers problems and passes them on. You take ownership, communicate with everyone involved, and do everything reasonably possible to resolve issues directly. Sometimes, this means getting into your car and visiting a location yourself to make sure everything runs smoothly.
You maintain a clear overview of ongoing situations, ensure that all relevant information is accurately recorded in our systems, and provide colleagues with complete and reliable reports so they can seamlessly take over during the rest of the day.
This is a full-time position based at our Headquarters in The Hague, with working hours from 05:00 to 14:00.

Here is what you will be in charge of:

  • You are responsible for answering questions from our temporary workers, providing clear information, and helping them resolve practical and operational issues quickly and effectively.
  • You actively monitor and coordinate early morning operational activities, including sickness notifications, employee availability, transport issues, and unexpected disruptions.
  • You take immediate ownership of problems, assess their urgency, and actively work towards practical solutions to minimize the impact on temporary workers, clients, and daily operations.
  • You maintain direct communication with temporary workers, clients, planners, and other colleagues, ensuring that everyone involved receives timely and accurate updates.
  • You handle sickness notifications in accordance with company procedures, ensure accurate registration, and promptly communicate relevant information to the appropriate departments.
  • You identify and resolve logistical challenges, such as transport delays, missed pickups, or employees being unable to reach their workplace, coordinating alternative solutions where necessary.
  • You are willing to visit client locations, housing facilities, or other operational sites when situations require immediate on-site support or intervention.
  • You proactively follow up on unresolved issues, ensuring that problems are not simply passed on but are properly addressed and monitored until a solution is reached.
  • You maintain an accurate and up-to-date overview of ongoing operational matters, ensuring that relevant information is consistently recorded in our internal systems.
  • You prepare clear, complete, and structured reports and handovers, enabling colleagues to continue their work efficiently and without unnecessary delays.
  • You keep colleagues and relevant departments well informed about important developments, urgent situations, and outstanding actions.
  • You identify recurring problems and contribute practical ideas to improve processes, communication, and overall operational efficiency.

Job Requirements
  • You have an MBO/HBO-level education or equivalent working and thinking ability, preferably in staffing, logistics, planning, customer service, or operational coordination.
  • You have strong communication skills in English and/or Dutch, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Polish is considered a strong advantage.
  • You have a proactive, hands-on mentality and a strong sense of responsibility. You do not wait for others to solve problems but take initiative and act decisively.
  • You are a natural problem-solver who remains calm under pressure and is able to make quick, practical decisions in unexpected situations.
  • You are confident communicating with temporary workers, clients, and colleagues, including in challenging or sensitive situations.
  • You are flexible, resourceful, and willing to go the extra mile, including visiting operational locations when necessary.
  • You are highly organized and capable of managing multiple situations simultaneously while maintaining a clear overview of priorities and ongoing matters.
  • You work accurately and systematically, ensuring that all relevant information, incidents, and follow-up actions are properly documented.
  • You understand the importance of operational continuity, client satisfaction, and employee support, and you are able to balance these interests effectively.
  • You are comfortable working independently while maintaining close communication and cooperation with colleagues across different departments.
  • You are comfortable using digital systems and administrative tools to register, monitor, and report operational activities.
  • You are available and comfortable working early morning shifts from 05:00 to 14:00.
  • You hold a valid driving licence (Category B) and are willing to travel to operational locations when necessary.
  • Experience in the temporary staffing industry or working with international employees is considered an advantage.
