At Charlie works, we are looking for a proactive and results-driven HR Flex Consultant to join our team in The Hague. As an HR Flex Consultant, you play an important role in managing and reducing absenteeism, coordinating reintegration processes, and minimizing periods of unemployment between assignments for our temporary workers.
You take ownership of individual cases, ensuring that employees receive appropriate guidance while company policies, legal obligations, and established procedures are consistently followed. You actively monitor progress, identify opportunities to reduce absence-related costs, and take timely action to facilitate a successful and sustainable return to work.
You are also responsible for managing temporary workers who are currently without an assignment, actively working towards placing them in suitable employment as quickly as possible.
This is a full-time position based at our Headquarters in The Hague.
Here is what you will be in charge of:
- You are responsible for actively managing, monitoring, and reducing absenteeism among temporary workers, ensuring that cases are handled efficiently, consistently, and in accordance with company policies and applicable legislation.
- You coordinate sickness absence cases, including communication with employees, occupational health services (Arbo), the UWV, and other relevant parties, ensuring that all required documentation, deadlines, and administrative processes are accurately managed.
- You conduct regular absence and reintegration meetings with employees, monitor their progress, and actively encourage a timely and sustainable return to work.
- You ensure that employees comply with sickness absence procedures, reintegration obligations, and company regulations, taking appropriate action when responsibilities are not fulfilled.
- You identify opportunities to reduce absenteeism, prevent unnecessary costs, and improve the effectiveness of absence management and reintegration processes.
- You actively manage temporary workers who are between assignments, working closely with planning and operational teams to ensure they are placed in suitable employment as quickly as possible.
- You assess and process special requests from temporary workers, carefully considering company policies, operational requirements, and applicable regulations, while maintaining accurate records of decisions and agreements.
- You confidently conduct challenging conversations with employees, addressing sensitive situations, non-compliance, and difficult requests in a professional, respectful, and decisive manner.
- You maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, monitor relevant KPIs, and provide clear insights into absenteeism, reintegration progress, and periods between assignments.
- You proactively identify recurring issues, suggest improvements, and contribute to developing a more efficient, structured, and cost-conscious HR Flex department.
Functievereisten
- You have an MBO/HBO-level education or equivalent experience, preferably in Human Resources, employment services, absence management, or the staffing industry.
- You have experience with absenteeism management, employee relations, reintegration, or temporary staffing, or you are highly motivated to develop your expertise in these areas.
- You have strong communication skills in English and/or Dutch, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Polish is considered a strong advantage.
- You are confident in conducting difficult conversations, setting clear boundaries, and addressing non-compliance while maintaining a professional and respectful approach.
- You are proactive, decisive, and solution-oriented, with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- You work accurately and systematically, ensuring that employee records, legal deadlines, and administrative obligations are consistently maintained.
- You are analytical, data-driven, and comfortable working with KPIs, with a clear focus on reducing absenteeism, minimizing unnecessary costs, and achieving measurable results.
- You understand the importance of balancing employee wellbeing with company interests, operational continuity, and compliance with employment legislation.
- Knowledge of Dutch employment legislation, the Sickness Benefits Act (Ziektewet), UWV procedures, and the ABU Collective Labour Agreement is a strong advantage.
